Summer Festival 2006

Indiana Black Pride is hosting our second annual Black Pride festival. The dates for this year's festival are August 9-13th. Mark these dates on your calendars!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9TH - AUTHOR SIGNING WITH DARVIN LEWIS- black gay author residing in Indianapolis
Join us at A Shade of Gray Bookstore as Darvin Lewis signs copies of his new book HOW BIG IS YOUR FAITH?
This event will take place from 6:30-8pm and is free.
A Shade of Gray Bookstore is located at 1402 N. Pennsylvania St.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 10TH- TOWN HALL MEETING AT JESUS METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY CHURCH
Indiana Black Pride has partnered with The National Black Justice Coalition, The Human Rights Campaign, and The Interfaith Coalition on Non-Discrimination to discuss the issues of GAY MARRIAGE, THE CHURCH, AND THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY.
Rev. Tommie Watkins will discuss his book Living Out Loud.
This event will start at 7pm and is free.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 11TH- PREMIER KICK-OFF EVENT- INDIANA BLACK PRIDE PRESENTS A HEALTH FAIR FOR THE COMMUNITY FOLLOWED BY A PERFORMANCE BY ADODI MUSE
JOIN US AT THE HISTORIC MADAME WALKER THEATRE FOR THIS EVENT
The Health Fair begins at 7pm and is free.
The performance by Adodi Muse will begin at 8pm; admission is $10.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 12TH- PICNIC AT THE PARK, 12 noon-7pm
Join us for food, vendors, and entertainment at Watkins Park (located at Fall Creek & MLK- 2360 Martin Luther King, Jr. St., Indianapolis, IN 46208).
This year, Indiana Black Pride is honored to have Deirdre McCalla as our Saturday afternoon headliner.
New this year, Indiana Black Pride will have a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament during the festival. Entry fee is $75. For more information and/or to enter the tournament, click here for the application.
